The Community Aging in Place Program works in conjunction with MaineHousing to offer services that allow community members in Kennebec or Somerset County to continue to live safely and comfortably at home. The program offers no-cost home safety checks, minor maintenance repairs, and accessibility modifications to eligible low-income older adults and disabled homeowners.

Accessibility Modifications
- Grab Bars and Hand Rails
- Bathroom: Shower wand, shower seat, raised toilet seat
- Drawer pulls
- Doorbell
- Lighting
- Kitchen Faucet
Minor Repairs
- Winterizing (weather stripping, plastic on windows)
- Floor repairs
- Storm door installation
- Gutter work
- Steps/existing ramps
- Minor plumbing or electrical
- Shelves and cabinet height
Safety checks
- Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
- Dryer vents
- Furnace filters
Eligibility includes homeowners who are: 55 and older or have a disability, income is 100% of AMI or below and live in Kennebec or Somerset County
